I always expect to feel sad in the fall. I mean, I'm weaksauce when it comes to the cold, and the gloomy weather is a sign that lots of time will be spent indoors... at school. But there's something about the way the leaves change colours that makes this time of year my favourite. Maybe it's the fact that the sound of my feet hitting the ground resembles potatoe chips. Or maybe it's because of the way the air smells when it rains. Or maybe it's because on the odd day of sunshine, the leaves make me hate the colour orange a little less. Or maybe, just maybe, it's because there's not many other times that you can say, "Hey look, the world is on fire." I must sound ridiculously "head in the clouds" right now.
Anyways, I found this in my Lord of the Flies book yesterday. Even though it's pretty darn obvious who wrote it, it made my day, because it made me feel adventurous.
"Hello reader. If you have stumbled upon this note, I regret to tell you that you have come across great misfortune. You must find me before the clock strikes twelve or else you will be cursed for the rest of eternity. Be quick on your feet, and be careful who your friends are. Good luck."
