Happiness Meme, Day 23
For the first time since I've been here, it rained. For somebody who comes from Vancouver, I should be sick of the rain and cloudy weather. The word "overcast" is nothing new and expecting the weather to be unstable isn't even a question. Rain is so ordinary that it's sort of comforting to me. It doesn't hold incredible sentiment like, "It waters my soul and reminds me that I have a home to go back to*," or whatever, but it's just ordinary. And I think there's a part of everyone that clings onto the ordinary.
By the way, when I say "rain," I actually mean "a slight drizzle," (For now, before the pre-typhoon rain hits.) yet I still saw people scurrying around to get under cover as if the rain was acidic. Oh wait, it is. (At least a bit more than it is back home, due to the pollution.) Nonetheless, I chose to ignore the fact that I was only person on the street without an umbrella and enjoyed it while it lasted. It was a nice change from the sun eating away at my skin. (Because acidic rain is so much better for me.)

*There's a slight tone of mockery in that sentence.
