Happiness Meme, Day 38
I was debating whether or not an hour-long bus ride and sitting in un-moving traffic would be worth it, but the Hong Kong Central Library really is as ridiculous as the picture abouve makes it look. I had to pull a picture from Google Images because of my lack of camera cable, but you can pretend that I can take such nice pictures. It's 10 floors of books, computers and workspaces, with 3 elevators, and it's situated on a hill with balconies overlooking something that's very rare in Hong Kong - greenery. The English fiction section is pretty hefty compared to the one at the local library near my grandpa's apartment, which is made up ALMOST one shelf. I actually felt like skipping down the aisles. There's also a cafe connected to the library with outside seating on the balcony, so I lugged my backpack full of books there, propped open a book and sipped on a lemon iced tea (which honestly, tasted like crap. I guess sometimes, you really do get what you pay for.). It was, for lack of a better word due to my own laziness, nice and helped me forget the permanent headache that the Hong Kong heat has implanted into my scalp. I think Fidelia Lam would pee her pants from joy.
Oh, and I lied at the beginning of this post. I love riding the bus. The MTR is impressive and convenient, but there isn't a better way to travel here other than sitting right in the front on the second level of a double decker bus... But eventually, I always give up my favourite spot to a child who complains to their parents that someone's "in their seat."
