I'm not gonna lie, this process wasn't easy. There was a lot of discouragement along the way, like negative comments, hours of sitting in Mr. Nill's office trying to get things sorted out and scheduling conflicts. But one of the things I'm most thankful for is that there were only small disasters. Dessert plate crises, speaker rental fiascoes, over-selling, overtime, missing pieces and simultaneous sharing of the gym were stressful to deal with, but very much deal-able. There was a lot of compromising, but nothing that couldn't be done.
And on top of this, people are just absolutely wonderful. As annoying as it was to have my phone ringing off the hook the entire day and to be bombarded with questions at every moment, it goes to show how many people were willing to give up their time to put up with hecticness of the day. And I'm ESPECIALLY thankful for people like Abby Tamaray, a girl who I would actually be dead without. I have so much love for this girl, it's unbelievable.
There was just a constant wave of volunteers always there to lend a hand, stay to clean up or offer a word of encouragement. I mean, usually I shut down as soon as the bad feedback comes in, but I'm lucky to have friends keeping me on track and focusing on the good. And I'm also glad for the people who forced me to enjoy all the work we put into the night and have fun.
At the end, Abby and I just looked at each other, and we were just so relieved.
And all there was left was to WHIP MA HAIR BACK AND FORTH (My neck actually hurts from doing this).
