Things I have learned about love, and I hope you do too:

Eventually, you learn that loving someone is not the same as chaining hearts to your wrists.
You learn that holding hands is not equivalent to a pinky swear.
You learn that kisses aren't promises.
You learn that even when he is writing his name all over your heart, he is not signing the bottom of a contract.
You learn that love is not based on security, because if you lock everything up, you will run out of oxygen.
You learn that when your definition of love is being robbed, that love is about giving, not taking.
You learn to forgive the man that held a gun to your head and robbed you.
You learn that you need to plant your own gardens instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers, so that when he finally shows up at your doorstep with a bouquet of roses, you can appreciate the work it takes to make them grow.
