I'm starting a travel blog since I won't be seeing much of Vancouver for the next 7 months. I'm beginning to grow weary of this blog, so maybe a new location will inspire me to write more!
First up - a film photo set from Bellingham.

The first time I swam in the ocean, I felt like the water was crushing me.
I panicked when my feet could not touch the bottom, and I knew that no swimming pool was large enough to prepare me for feeling as small as I did in that moment.
The second time I swam in the ocean, I felt like the water was holding me.
I have heard that daredevils are born loving fear, and that was never something I could comprehend until I met the ocean skin-to-skin.

Today, two people I really care about got married.
It was the best day.

My friend Jill has used some of Farisia's and my photography for her geometry project and has created some cool pieces of art.
She continues to prove to me time and time again that math is beautiful.

Check out The Nature of Geometry for more!

A blanket of fog has settled over Vancouver this week.
I spent so much time in the forest this summer, and now I find myself back, chasing after the fog.
It has gotten a new coat since the last time I saw it. It has wrapped itself in a quilt of clouds.
Everytime I breathe, I imagine that I am stitching more patches.

"I know a place with many trees," He said, "Come and find me there."

Tonight, I turn on the TV to fill the empty spaces, but it is already so full; fuller than I could imagine.
Tonight, my mother looked like a train station, but the tubes don't bring cars full of people into her veins.
Sometimes, the waiting period feels so mundane.

I think there is a hole in heaven where good things slip through, and there is a brief moment when the light and the darkness meet.
That is why happiness and sadness can live in the same place.
That is why you can miss someone with all you are, yet want nothing to do with them.

This weekend was perfect. We lived in parking lots. We danced (like really danced). We sang with the best. We listened to incredible music and firecracker echoes. We took untravelled roads, swam in lakes, and befriended neighbours. We rose with the sun. We built our own paradises out of cliff edges, truck camper rooftops, and gravel shores.
I'm already missing the festival, mountain air.
