Everybody here treats me like I'm retarded. They either speak to me in a condescending tone, make a big deal out of whatever I say or pretend to pity me. My uncle laughs at everything I do. The kids in my class snicker behind my back. I would love to say it's an experience that's come out positively for me and has made me stronger, but really, I'm just annoyed. I can laugh it off here or there, but I just want to stop nodding and smiling. I don't want to be the one that takes thing too seriously or can't take a joke, but nobody likes to be treated like they're dumb. Some people don't think so, but I can actually see through their snide remarks to what they really think of me. I'm not stupid, I'm just not in my element.

I'm not sure why the late night conversations stopped or why our friendship got weird. Well, I do know the reason why, and it was stupid, but I'm glad nothing's really changed.
