"What is it you want Mary? What do you want? You want the moon? Just say the word and I'll throw a lasso around it and pull it down. Hey. That's a pretty good idea. I'll give you the moon, Mary." - George Bailey, It's a Wonderful Life

Today I picked up my godsister from the airport, spent a summer afternoon behind a lens and digging my toes in the sand, got my mind blown watching The Avengers in IMAX, and had some late night bubble tea with my bros.
Life is SO SO good.

PS: When I was in Gr. 11/12, I fell head over heels for photography. And somewhere along the way, I wandered away from it, because I was never patient enough to make it something to call mine. But I'm getting back into it again, so hopefully this summer will bear fruit in the form of sweet pics.
PPS: Meet my good-looking friend Ralph. One day, he's going to be famous in Korea. Even the back of his head is ridiculous.

I did some retail therapy today, and while I was shopping, this song came on:

I forgot how much I love this movie and the movie soundtrack. They're both amazing.

^ This picture has gotten me the most reblogs on tumblr. It isn't much, and it's kind of a strange thing to feel proud of, but it makes me feel good to get reblogged, especially when it's my own stuff!

Things I Like:
#81.

I spent a sunny Saturday afternoon at Granville Island today. We did a photo scavenger with Food Society, so we had a good time taking awkward pictures and running around the market doing challenges. I've only been there twice, and both times were at night, so it was a lot of fun exploring the area with all its quaint shops, gorgeous waterfront view, and endless amount of buskers. I bet Emily Carr students get inspired just by being there alone. It's probably even more lovely in the summer, so I hope I'll go there with some of my girls when the weather gets warm!

I've heard a lot about the Granville Island Tea Company, so I was excited to finally be able to buy some tea from the shop! A friend recommended Brandied Apple, and the woman at the counter recommended us Lady Londonderry (which is strawberry and papaya flavored), and I love fruity teas so I'm stoked to try them! We also bought some candied and flavored smoked salmon, which is always a treat, so life is good right now.

Today, I also watched Hugo, which is such a beautiful film. It's set in old Paris (which I absolutely adore because everyone looks so classy!) and is about a boy who lives in a train station. The movie was extremely well-done and you won't be able to help falling in love with the characters. I highly recommend to anyone who reads this to see it!

Also, I would like to live in a floating house. Maybe not a pink one, but I can't imagine living anywhere that isn't close to water... And I guess this is literally the closest you can get!
That is all. Goodnight!

"It's all those good things you have in you. The love, the wisdom, the generosity, the selflessness, the patience. The patience! At 3 A.M. when everyone's awake because Ibrahim is sick and he can't find the bathroom and he's just puked all over Katki's bed. When you blink, when you blink! And it's 5:30 and it's time to get up again and you know you're going to be tired all day, all week, all your fucking life. And you're thinking what happened to Greece? What happened to swimming naked off the coast of Greece? And you have to be willing to make the family out of whatever you have." - Away We Go

This movie will make you laugh, cry and fall in love. It's so raw, real and ridiculous all in one.

I don't even know where to begin to express how awesome I think Emma Stone is. I thought I just really liked Oliver Penderghast from Easy A, in all her quirkiness, made-up sophisticated vocabulary and word vomit, but after watching a couple (or more...) interviews of her, I think she's pretty much the coolest person ever. She's honest, witty and would rather get a grilled cheese sandwich than hit up an after-party. I think it's safe to say that I have the biggest girl-crush on her, not that it wasn't evident enough with the amount of comments Esther and I were making about how she's so hot and badass when we were watching Zombieland today.

Michelle: I'm not saying you should forget about him, because you can't and you shouldn't. He was special. But I, I just think... F*ck it.
Jal: What?
Michelle: Like Chris. He said f*ck it, I'll do it my own way. And the people that love me will understand why I'm doing it because they love me.

Mom, listen, I haven’t been together with Topanga for 22 years, but we have been together for 16. That’s a lot longer than most couples have been together. I mean, when we were born, you told me that we used to take walks in our strollers together around the block. When we were two, we were best friends. I mean, I knew everything about this girl. I knew her favorite color, her favorite food. Then we became six, Eric made fun of me because it wasn’t cool to have a best friend that was a girl or even know a girl. So for the next seven years I threw dirt at her. I like to call those “the lost years”. Then when I was thirteen, mom, she put me up against my locker and she kissed me. I mean, she gave me my first kiss. She taught me how to dance. She always was talking about these crazy things and I never understood a word she said. All I understood was that she was the girl I sat up every night thinking about, and when I’m with her, I feel happy to be alive. Like I can do anything. Even talk to you like this. So that’s, that’s what I think is love, mom. When I’m better because she’s here.” - Cory Matthews, Boy Meets World

Happiness Meme, Day 50

Step Up 3 was incredibly predictable, and the only thing surprising about the storyline was that it wasn't thug meets ballerina. But I guess that's not what it's about anyways. The dancing was dopeeee!!!

I LOVED this movie. It was so School of Rock-esque.

Happiness Meme, Day 37
Usually, I manage to catch really hyped up movies before everyone starts telling me how amazing they are, so I don't get disappointed from self-raised standards. But this time around, I waited until enough people told me it wasn't as good as they thought it would be, so I could re-lower my standards before watching it. And it helps that I love anything Ellen Page, and that Leonardo has stolen my heart since The Titanic. Anyways, Inception really is as good as people say it is, but pretend I didn't tell you that.

"Burt: Do you promise to let your daughter be fat or skinny or any weight at all? Because we want her to be happy, no matter what. Being obsessed with weight is just too cliche for our daughter.
Verona: Yes, I do. Do your promise, when she talks, you’ll listen? Like, really listen, especially when she’s scared? And that her fights will be your fights?
Burt: I do. And do you promise that if I die some embarrassing and boring death that you’re gonna tell our daughter that her father was killed by Russian soldiers in this intense hand-to-hand combat in an attempt to save the lives of 850 Chechnyan orphans?
Verona: I do."

Sickness, sickness go away.
Come again another day NEVER AGAIN.
PS: You know you've been sick for way too long when the most exciting thing that happened in your day is when you found out that you get to eat noodles instead of congee for lunch. :(
PPS: Watch Whip It. Ellen Page will forever be my hero inspires me to be my own hero.
